Royal Resort and Lounge
Directions: Given a floor plan, design two levels of an upscale hotel in sketchup that consists of a lobby, lounges, and restaurant.
*Note: Due to a time limit caused by the beginning of COVID-19, we were not required to provide a lighting plan for this project.
Concept: The overall design of this hotel is an upscale contemporary style consisting of a lobby, lounge, and restaurant on the first two levels, with walls painted in a deep teal, and sleek, black, white, and marble accents, as well as wood furniture materials.
First floor

A deep teal color is used to create a deep, tranquil ambience and is accented with gold and marble.
A wide variety of seating was incorporated to allow all end-users to be comfortable.

A tinted outdoor patio roof allows enough sunlight to come down during the day without being overwhelming, while still allowing people to see the sky at night.
The incorporation of a fish tank is meant to give a feeling of tranquility and calmness.

A protruding fireplace is used to give the hotel lobby a homey feel and create a relaxing, white noise effect.
Second floor

Lighter hues were used to better reflect the sunlight as it gets warmer upstairs. Rather than having one long patio, the second story has 2 separate decks: one for an outdoor lounge and another for dining.

Similar to the first story, walls of windows create lots of natural light as well as giving users a view of the city below.
Booths create a more intimate setting while tables create space and more seating arrangements.

The relaxing ambiance is provided with warm, dark hues and rustic brick walls.
In this more casual lounge, a sectional sofa creates an informal seating for watching tv. At the back of the room, a secluded area is for those who want to relax by the fireplace and chat.

This outdoor lounge is better suited for families or couples who want some fresh air while sitting around the fire pit.
Stone outdoor floors are lighter and have a cooling effect and dark seating gives a nice contrast.
